It’s Almost Time to Stuff the Sleigh!

November 4th, 2009

Can you believe it?? The 2009 Stuff the Sleigh toy drive is almost here! We’ve been busy meeting and planning this year’s toy drive, and it’s going to be our best year ever! We have a new partner on board: North Little Rock’s First Assembly of God! They host CHRISTMAS LANE every year, and this year STS will be a part of their festivities!
We’ll keep posting as plans are finalized so keep in touch!

What a Friday!!

December 5th, 2008

What a way to wrap up a toy drive! This morning we were at Walmart on Bowman and it was great! The Radio City Rockettes showed up and were so gracious! They donated scarves, mugs, and snow globes to Stuff the Sleigh!

Several schools and businesses showed up to drop off toys and money that they had collected! Thanks so much!

We ended up with over 3,100 toys and over $5,000!

Stay tuned for our grand totals for the week and tune into Todays THV Monday morning at 6:15 to see us wrap up everything live with Tom Brannon!

Merry Christmas!!

Fantastic 4th Day!

December 4th, 2008

Today was another GREAT day for the toy drive! We were at Wal-mart in Sherwood, and it was chilly! We started off a little slow, but boy! Sherwood came out in full force! We ended up with 872 toys donated, and alot of money! Lloyd, the Manager of Sherwood’s Wal-mart surprised us with a $1,000 check from the store! We were so touched!

We also had GREAT volunteers to help us count/sort when we made it to the warehouse! Thanks to the CALL  and Geyer Springs First Baptist for coming to help!

Jason and I also want to say how grateful we are to Middleton Heat and Air for transporting the toys for us, Everett Pontiac, Buick, GMC for loaning us the truck to carry the sleigh, and Dennis Properties for loaning us the warehouse to house the toys!

We are so grateful to all of those involved! Because of them, foster children in Arkansas will have a merrier Christmas this year!

Tomorrow we’ll be at Wal-mart on Bowman. We’d love to see you there! :)

Day 3: Way to Go Conway!

December 3rd, 2008

Conway is AWESOME! It was a balmy 45 degrees this morning at the Walmart in Conway! (Hey, 20 degrees warmer than yesterday is definitely balmy!!) We are so thankful for the people of Conway who came out and donated toys and cash! Special thanks goes to Conway Regional Therapy Services for bringing their own “stuffed sleigh” to the drive this morning! We ended up with a total of 1,198 toys!!

Also, our volunteer toy counters/sorters were from the Division of Volunteerism! They sorted nearly 1,200 toys in 45 minutes!

We are so thankful for Tom Brannon from Today’s THV and Heather and DC from Alice 107.7fm! Without them, we would be standing outside a Walmart collecting toys and NO ONE Would KNOW! :)

Tomorrow we’ll be at the new Walmart in Sherwood! We’re excited to be there for the first time, and we know that Sherwood will bring out lots of toys! Come by and visit us tomorrow!

Shivering Second Day!

December 2nd, 2008

Wow! It was COLD this morning! Tom Brannon, Jason, Heather and DC and I were popsicles!

Today we were in Cabot at the Wal-mart collecting toys. It started out a little slow, but Cabot sure did themselves proud! We ended up with 393 toys and $1,885 in donations! It made waking up at 3am worth it!

We want to say a special thanks to Everett Pontiac, Buick, GMC for loaning us a super pick up truck to transport our sleigh for the week! It’s awesome!

Also, we couldn’t do this without our volunteers to count and sort toys! Today we had help from Geyer Springs First Baptist Church and The C.A.L.L. Ya’ll were great!

Tomorrow we’ll be heading to the Wal-mart on Hwy 65 in Conway. Come see us there as we continue to stuff our sleigh for foster children!

First Day Success!

December 1st, 2008

The Stuff the Sleigh toy drive is off to a GREAT start! This morning we were at the Wal-mart in Bryant, and Bryant really stepped up! When we arrived, Mrs. Belinda  (aka “The Kangaroo Lady”) was there with 200 toys that she had collected throughout the year! It only got better from there! At the end of the morning, we had 469 toys  and $386 for children in foster care in Arkansas!!

We want to send a big THANK YOU to Middleton Heat and Air for sending Mr. Robert to come with an 18 foot trailer to carry the toys to our warehouse, and speaking of warehouses, another thanks goes to Dennis Properties for donating the warehouse for all these toys for the next 2 weeks!

Also a shout out to the Division of Volunteerism for coming out to help us count and sort all the toys! You guys are awesome! :)

We’re really thankful for all those involved! We’ll update you tomorrow as we head to Cabot!

We are less than 4 weeks away from our 2008 Stuff the Sleigh toy drive! This year’s toy drive will be December 1st-5th. Once again we’re teaming up with Tom Brannon from Today’s THV and Heather and DC from Alice 107.7 to collect new, unwrapped toys and monetary donations for children in foster care at Central Arkansas Wal-Mart locations.
